This article reviews the container glass sector in Russia. During the past decade, the Russian food and beverage industry has grown substantially, providing significant opportunities for the local glass packaging sector. Along with the introduction of high-tech manufacturing facilities, a series of modernisation programmes, business restructures, mergers and acquisitions have transformed the local glass container industry, which is now poised to reap the benefits of increased consumerism and health awareness.
