[Russia] Glass Mould Production Declining

A meeting of heads of domestic enterprises for glass factories in Russia recently took place. The meeting was attended by Viktor Ivanovich Osipov, president of "StekloSouz." The reason for the meeting was to discuss the difficult economic situation of producers of glass molds. The volume of internal deliveries to the Russian glass market have declined, the main reasons cited as rising energy prices & non-ferrous metals. The meeting also raised the facts of unfair competition from importers. Mold sets from some foreign suppliers, for example, from China & other countries sold in Russia are lower priced than those of domestic producers. It was decided to examine in detail the situation, make a detailed analysis & identify areas for change in the plight of this sub-sector of the glass industry in Russia.
