This article highlights the main peculiarities and trends of the Russian market for glass bottles, revealed by the research carried out by MRA. For the last 10 years, the food processing industry has been intensively increasing the consumption of plastic, card and aluminium packaging on the background of the relative decrease of glass container consumption. However, recent trends are gradually seeing the recovery of interest in traditional glass packaging, inarguable advantages of which are hygiene, usage of natural raw materials, clarity, inertness, and a large variety of designs and types.
