Construction of a float glass factory with a maximum daily output of 600/tpd has begun in the Republic of Dagestan in Russia. The Caspian Factory of Float glass began the project in the village of Tyube, in Russia's Kumorkalinsky District, with a land lot of 50 hectares. The factory is expected to produce 20% of all float glass in the North Caucasian Federal District and 8% in Russia by 2013. It was reported that the project will cost around 10.5BN rubles.
