Rpr Process For Repairing Silica Lining

Hot repair has become a must for relining the superstructure of a glass furnace. A new process, Reactive Projection for Repair (RPR), provides repairs with a high degree of compatibility with the initial masonry. The silica-based repair material exhibits a corrosion resistance better than that of new bricks. Pilot-scale and industrial results demonstrate that the process is able to increase a glass furnace's life by several years.
