Royal Commission For Kagami Crystal

After two and a half years of delicate designs& patient craftsmanship, Kagami Crystal has delivered its latest commission for Japan's Imperial Household. The 240-piece "Mugimon" set of tableware includes glasses for champagne, red and white wine, sherry, liqueurs and water. Mugimon means "a pattern of wheat" and each piece is decorated with a simple wheat sheaf. Once the design by Kagami's senior designer Koichi Kubo had been approved by the Imperial Household Agency, the full set took 6 months to complete. Kagami Crystal has been supplying glassware to the Imperial family for nearly 70 years after it was set up in 1934, being Japan's first ever crystal glass factory and is still considered its finest. Kagami Crystal is wholly-owned by NSG Group and its head office and factory are based in Ibaraki (Tokyo). The company employees 78 people and produces a huge range of luxury glassware, ornamental ware, trophies and artworks.
