Royal Brierley Crystal Works Closed

Royal Brierley Crystal works at Tipton Road, Dudley, West Midlands, ended production in July 2007, after 231 years. The blame for the closure of the factory is put on the rise in popularity of chap foreign imports. The company used to employ over 700 people and moved to Dudley from Brierley Hill in 2002. Production will reportedly move to parent, Dartington's factory in north Devon, although the retail shop will stay open at the Tipton Road site.
