[Romania] Furnace Upgrades For Stirom

Furnace technology supplier SORG has successfully completed some important contracts for Stirom SA of Bucharest, Romania recently. The Yioula Group subsidiary commissioned furnace No 2 in the second quarter of 2015. This followed furnace no 3, which was commissioned to the full satisfaction of the client in 2014. Both furnaces were modernised and feature increased capacities, with upgraded state-of-the-art equipment as part of a development project. Furnace no 3 was originally a cross-fired regenerative furnace, which was converted to an end-fired regenerative design with five production lines for a pull of over 300/tpd for glass container production. An end port regenerative design, furnace no 2 was enlarged in surface and completely modernised to a state-of-the-art design with a capacity of over 200/tpd with three forehearth connections for flint and coloured glass production.
