Rockware In £25M Investment

Rockware is installing the country's first 10-section Owens-Illinois quadruple gob forming machine as part of a £25M investment in its Knottingley factory. The new machine will be the most productive in the country and will produce lightweight beer bottles. Combined with the recently installed 12-section triple gob machine, it will be able to serve the needs of large volume buyers. As well as the new forming machine, Rockware is also rebuilding two furnaces with the latest energy-efficient designs accompanied with new emissions reduction technology to meet mandatory EU requirements. Rockware is also increasing the capacity of its recycling operations and creating a full scale colour separation plant to handle glass collected from pubs and clubs by Berryman's "recycle-more-glass" scheme.
