Reviewing The Efficiency Of The Heat Soak Test

Standard procedure for avoiding impromptu cracking of tempered and heat strengthened glass, caused by the presence of nickel sulphide, is the Heat Soak Test (HST). Results of research, however, show that the HST is not fully accurate as regards temperature and time. A shorter and apparently more reliable version of the HST, was explored by a team of scientists at Saint-Gobain, who discuss their findings here.
