[Repairs/Rebuilds] Saving Fuel With Better Crown Insulation

Lubisol Engineering offers specialised crown insulation that can result in significant fuel savings. It is almost the same thickness and price as conventional crown insulation, but it reduces the cold face temperature from 195 deg C to 135 deg C and prevents heat losses of 800-1000 W/m2. Fuel savings can start from around 400m2/Euros per year, up to 40,000/Euros for a 100m2 glass furnace. These results are achievable due to the light material Lubisol #2-SL having low thermal conductivity properties and a density of 0.3g/cm3. During the last few years, the package has been applied to 63 glass furnaces, most of these designed by Nikolaus Sorg & Co., Horn Glass Industries, NSG Group, Asahi Glass and Sisecam. It has also been applied to 10 new Sisecam furnaces and on four new furnaces at Vetropack in the Czech Republic. Also, Hindusthan National Glass & Industries (India) have orders for three large glass container furances (Horn). The Lubisol package offers a combination of fuel savings and hermetic sealing for protection against rat holes. For more information please visit: www.lubisol.com
