After almost halving in the past 5 years, there is finally a glimmer of hope for the German window market, says Interconnection Consulting Group. A small growth of 0.2% can be expected this year, speeding up in the next few years due to improving economic situation & growing demand for renovation. With a decline of 6.6% in quantity & 2.2% in value, 2005 seemed to be the low point for the German window market. For the first time in years there will be a slightly positive growth in volume. The greatest sufferers have been small/medium-sized firms, many of which went bankrupt or were bought by larger window firms. The driving force for positive development in the next few years is the gathering momentum of the German economy which particularly benefits the construction industry.
