ReMaDe Kernow, which stands for Recycling Market Development,is expanding with the help of EU assistance. Originally set up in order to develop markets for recycled materials, it was one of the first projects to gain investment from the Objective One Programme, an EU-funded initiative targeted at areas where the GDP per capita is 75% or less of EU average. Green Glass UK operates from a factory in Cornwall, and produces glassware by cutting the bottom off bottles and sealing them to the top of the neck in order to create a goblet-type design. ReMaDe has helped Green Glass UK since the company began in 2000, and has provided investments for an annealing lehr. Providing ongoing support to help the company to build up the business, ReMaDe has recently helped Green Glass UK to develop its strategic marketing, including adding an e-commerce facility.
