Relaxation Behaviour, High-Temperature Tensile Strength And Brittleness Of Glass Melts

The simple compression of cylindrical glass samples has been applied as a measurement technique to obtain information on the high-temperature fracture strength, stiffness and relaxation behaviour of glass melts. The brittleness of a melt can be defined thus in a quantitative manner.
