Relation Between Temperature Field And Flow Field In Free Convection In Glass Melts.

Equations describing the properties of molten glass, flow, and energy transport wer used to give a numerical evaluation of flow distribution under particular conditions of convectivwe flow. The boundry conditions used were the boundry temperatures obtained experimentally for white and green glass. From a generalisation of the results obtained by introducing dimensionless parameters, thier value was extended. Unfortunately, the numerical data available were for conditions (Rayleigh numbers) in small tanks only. Application of the results to large tanks is limited.
