Regulation 66/2010 of 25 Nov/09 & coming into force 20 Feb/10, lays down rules for the establishment & application of a voluntary EU Ecolabel scheme. The Commission will establish an EU Ecolabelling Board (EUEB) & will ensure the EUEB observes a balanced participation of all relevant interested parties in respect of each product group, such as competent bodies, producers, manufacturers, importers, wholesalers, retailers, SMEs & environmental protection groups & consumer organisations. The EU Ecolabel criteria will be based on the environmental performance of products, taking into account the latest strategic objectives of the Community in the field of the environment.
