Reflections On The Role And Future Structure Of The British Glass Manufacturers' Confederation

David Workman took over as the Director General of the BGMC in April 2001. What he has found is very different from his pre-conceived ideas of the organisation and its role within the glass industry. In this article, David provides an insight both of his first positive impressions as to the current state of the British Glass Industry and the legislative issues facing the industry. The role and future organisational structure of BGMC and its consultancy services company Glass Technology Services (Glass Technology Services) are also briefly reviewed.
