Redox Control In Industrial Glass Melting By Means Of Zirconia Based Sensors

The influence of the oxygen activity on the oxidation state of iron and on the light transmission data is shown for different glasses. The influence of batch changes on the oxygen activity is also demonstrated. The discussion of the variations of the oxygen activity, batch composition and glass properties yield that in-situ oxygen activity measurements enable constant colour production.
