Recycling Initiative

This year marked the 100th anniversary of Coca-Cola in the UK & the company launched a recycling initiative with Rockware as part of the celebrations. Coca-Cola representatives travelled around England to promote the brand at public events by distributing 1m bottles of Coca-Cola in the icon contour glass bottle & Rockware is to recycle each container. The glass maker is supplying special bottle banks & collecting the waste glass to be taken to its new reprocessing plant in Knottingley. Marketing services manager at Rockware, Andy Hartley said,"When we heard about this summer's promotion of Coca-Cola we immediately saw the potential to highlight the real benefits of glass recycling to younger consumers in a way that was credible rather than worthy or critical." The recycled glass will be used to ensure that the drink can be enjoyed from the authentic glass bottle in the future.
