Recycling Body Launched In Britain

A new agency has been established in the UK to help remove barriers to waste minimisation, re-use and recycling, ad to create stable and efficient markets for recycled materials and products. The Waste Resources and Action Programme (WRAP) wants to establish a national agenda based on well-defined priorities and positive relationships with manufacturers and retailers, the community sector, the waste management industry, local government, recyclers and reprocessors, and central government in England, Scotland and Wales. The organisation will undertake a programme of work designed to develop markets for secondary materials, promoting a major shift in the way we think about materials in the waste stream. For more information please contact WRAP on tel: 0207 944 8861 or email: wrap@detr.gsi.gov.uk
