[Recycling] Bbc Show Attacks Plastic Tray Record

the packaging supply chain has warned that more work needs to be done before all black microwavable trays for ready meals can be widely recycled. The issue was highlighted on the BBC's "One Show" with presenter Lucy Siegle noting that the black trays aren't being recycled due to a colourant that isn't being detected by recyclers. Carbon black makes the trays invisible to sorting machines and around 1.3bn trays a year are sent to landfill or incineration.
