Recycled Content Of Mainstream Construction Products

This publication, which is available to download from the internet free of charge, provides details of a range of products and materials commonly used in new build and refurbishment for housing, commercial and public sector projects. Its purpose is to help identify how to increase recycled content through product substitution (e.g. using concrete blocks with 50% instead of 0% recycled content). Many construction products contain a proportion of recycled content. However, competing brands may contain different proportions. Case studies show that, by simple product substitution, projects can increase their recycled content significantly without increasing the cost of materials or risk. There are over 35 product categories presented in this document, and details are provided for over 100 products/brands.
