This paper contains a literature review of the applications of Raman spectroscopy to the analysis of glasses. After describing the principles of formation of characteristic Raman bands of various molecular groups, the constitution of Raman spectrometers is described. Among the various applications reported are highlighted applications to the analysis of micro inclusions, the analysis of gases in bubbles, the analysis of the structure of glass and surface analysis.
