A wide range of specialist auto glazing for vehicles such as cranes and fork lift trucks will now be handled from the dedicated department that RAC Auto Windscreens has opened at its Chesterfield base. The centre will monitor and supervises all RAC Auto Windscreens specialist glazing jobs, which the firm says will bring greater efficiency and faster service for its plant customers. Customers calling the centre are handled by a team of specialist controllers with access to current parts and pricing information, and a team of 43 specialist plant fitters is available. The centralised control system enables call controllers to locate replacement glass, contact fitters and schedule arrival times. RAC Auto Windscreens claims to have the largest fitting centre network in the UK with more than 2500 part numbers and a 97% first-time pick up.
