R-Evolution In Inspection

Cold end camera inspection provider Irish Inspection Machines has introduced a new generation of machines for glass containers. The Evolution concept has been developed over the past 11 years. The latest generation of camera inspection machines aims to mark a step forward in automatic glass container inspection, offering tools for better selectivity and easier adjustment, and principally introducing some intelligence int he machine processing. According to the company, the machine has demonstrated its benefit after it was installed in a French glass plant. New software recognises and follows the position of the container in the machine compensating the differences of mechanical positioning. This is particularly true for non-round containers inspected by the Evolution 5 base inspector. The machine performs a model construction of the production running on line, based on statistical learning in real time. This model gives the machine a powerful tool to improve the final decision: Is it a bad or a good article? The implementation of this "intelligent machine" in a glass plant has already been welcomed by users at a shop floor level both reducing the time needed for finding the optimal adjustment and in the mean time improving detection precision.
