Quinn And Recresco Sign Cullet Deal

UK glass recycling firm Recresco has signed a £100M, 10y deal to supply cullet to bottle manufacturer Quinn Glass for reprocessing into new bottles. Nottinghamshire-based Recresco will supply the Quinn facility at Ellesmere Port in Cheshire with 2M/t used glass, collected from LA kerbside collection schemes, bottle banks & by commercial operators across the UK. Recresco is currently building a new sorting & processing plant on the site of its own facility at Ellesmere Port that will be able to handle 4,000/t of mixed glass/week. The plant, which is scheduled to open September 2008, will colour separate glass, at least 90% of which will be used to make new bottles & containers.
