Feldspars are indispensable raw materials for ceramics and glass industries due to their alkali and alumina contents. Although the earth's crust mainly consists of feldspar, being 25.6% in various grades as rock forming minerals, hitherto only some, namely albite, orthoclase and microcline have been exploited for glass and ceramic making.
