Quality And Output Across The Entire Thickness Range

Producing flat glass in a constantly increasing thickness range both for thin and thick glass has become a real challenge for manufacturers. The upper thickness range puts increasingly tough demands on edge quality with respect to angle accuracy, straightness and flaring. In the lower thickness range, the product is more and more fragile and susceptible to break because of its reduced thickness. Scoring and snapping become increasingly difficult and the product conditions are more unstable in terms of shape and position deviations. This article describes a glass thickness measurement solution for all critical and standard float lines.
