[Qatar] Qimc To Build New Container Plant

Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC) plans to set up the first glass container manufacturing unit in the country at an estimated cost of some US 63.16m, according to a recent report. QIMC has signed an agreement with Germany's GlassGlobal, a consulting firm specialised in providing technical and advisory services to the glass industry worldwide, in this regard. The design capacity of the project is 200/tpd and it will utilise local sand as the main raw material and natural gas as the source of energy. Around 140 jobs will be created.
