Proppants For Shale Gas And Oil Recovery

The development and commercialisation of natural gas and oil-containing shales during the past decade have been instrumental in making the US self-sufficient in terms of natural gas supply, with significant export potential. New research shows mixed glass cullet, mine tailings, and drill-cutting waste streams are viable alternative sources of raw materials for engineering proppants for shale and oil recovery, as explained in this article.
