Valpak has teamed up with Rockware Glass in a deal which will see huge investment in UK glass recycling. Under the 5 year agreement, Valpak will have access to around 250,000 tonnes packaging waste recovery notes (PRN's) per annum generated by Rockware. Revenue generated by the PRNs will be used to fund a number of projects to help develop and grow glass recycling within the UK. This includes improving glass collection infrastructure within the UK through Berryman, Rockware's partner collection company, more investment in Berryman's colour separation plant, enhancement to the existing treatment plant at Knottingley, and a new plant in Doncaster. Investment will also be channelled into Rockware's glass recycling education programme, funding mobile education centres and in-house recycling awareness training.
