Preparation And Characterisation Of High Density Pbo-Bi2O3-B2O3 Glasses

A high density glassy detector material that is stable in air and water, transparent to visible light, capable of being formed in large volumes and possesses a density approaching 10g/ml is being sought. Therefore in this study the glass-forming range, density, corrosion resistance and UV/VIS spectra are examined for glasses in the PbO-Bi2O3-B2O3 system.
