Predictive Algorithm For Luminous And Solar Properties Of Coated Glasses Based On The Equivalent Uncoated Material Model

Thin solid films are deposited on glass for buildings in order to improve comfort in the indoor environment. Daylighting and energy consumption of the room can be predicted when luminous and solar parameters of the fenestration are known as functions of the incidence angle of solar radiation. On the other hand, fenestrations can be experimentally characterised (often only at incidence angle less than 60 deg) with sophisticated and expensive instruments. An alternative method consists in the exhaustive optical characterisation of the coating allowing the fenestration parameters to be evaluated at every indicence angle, but that is very complex in the case of multilayer coatings.
