Guidance is offered for a variety of glass-making activities with the intention of providing a basis for the assessment of both the continued supply of established sands and the evaluation of new sources of silica sand. Part 1 addresses sampling and physical testing; including the determination of moisture, inspection for contamination and particle size analysis.
