Ppg'S Solarcool Solex

PPG Industries has married two of its long-standing architectural glass technologies to create a green reflective coated product with energy efficiency superior to either technology alone. Solarcool Solex glass, combines the soft reflectivity of Solarcool coated glass and light green colour of Solex glass, providing interior glare control while transmitting desirable visible light. According to Patrick J Kenny, director of marketing, after offering Solarcool Solex glass in the past on a limited basis, PPG is making it a standard product. "Solarcool combines two of the most successful architectural glass products ever developed", Kenny said. "Solex glass was the world's first spectrally selective tinted glass, created in 1934, while Solarcool coated glass, introduced in 1972, is the most enduring pyrolytic coated product available".
