Porous Sco2O3-Hfo2-B2O3-Na2O Glass

The replacement of SiO2 in a sodium borosilicate system by a combination of HfO2 and Sc2O3 produced phase separable glasses. Such glasses have high heat resistance, and a higher working temperature than that of porous silica may therefore be expected.
