Polishing Specialist Simplifies Process

The usual polishing process are: Cerium oxide polishing, which requires a corrosion-resistant environment, as well as a specific re-circulation system; & acid polishing, which requires specific handling with an additional processing station. These processes involve quite heavy & user-unfriendly implementation. Additionally, there are restrictions regarding environment protection regulations. Therefore, Biebuyck, has developed a mechanical polishing process for the treatment of vases & figurines that requires no supplementary additives. However, these conditions must apply: The item must show a perfect grinding quality; It must be absolutely even & parallel with the disks; High power grinding stations; Very accurate & rigid guiding mechanism enabling to apply strong pressure to the workpiece; Disks designed for mechanical polishing with clear water. If these conditions are met, according to the firm there are two possibilities: Polishing with a manual surface polishing machine, which involves a long processing time, as well as strong pressure that must be applied during processing. A difficult method & not very efficient. Alternatively, there is the option of polishing using the integrated mechanical polishing equipment that forms part of the Biebuyck sawing-grinding-bevelling machine which incorporates all processing steps from sawing to rim polishing within one machine; the reuslt is increased productivity & better quality.
