Polish Food Firm Converts To Glass From Cans

Agros Nova, a food producer in Poland, has converted the packaging of its Lowicz tomato pulp from cans to glass. The company responded to consumer preference for glass jars because they convey a higher quality image and create consumer confidence in the product's freshness and flavour. It is using O-I Poland to produce the jars. O-I designed the 80ml jars hold 15% more capacity than the can and uses a closure allowing customers to spoon out the product. The jar is taller than the can and is of low weight, making sure the price of the jar, closures and labels is not greater than the price of the can.
