The opening of a new glassworks in Ujazd in central Poland has created some 300 regional jobs. The factory, constructed by Euroglas, is equipped with a modern flat glass production line and cost around PLN 723M, according to reports. The project involved the construction of what is thought to be the world's largest furnace for melting glass, 1000/tpd. Euroglass was granted business activity permission to operate in Poland's Lodz Special Economic Zone in 2008. The new glassworks is run in co-operation with Polish partner Press-Glass, which specialises in glazed units.
