Poland - Container Plants Require Modernisation

Container glass production per head in Poland is just 16kg/annum, compared to 56kg/annum in Germany and 60kg in France. There are several manufacturing plants, some of which have been privatised using capital from overseas companies, examples being Owens-Illinois in Jaroslav, a Canadian company in Antoninek, PLM in Gostyn and Heye-Glas in Dzialdowo. The majority of factories are in urgent need of modernisation but the capital necessary can be obtained only from partnerships arranged with companies from other countries. Three typical container glassworks are described in this article.
