[Plastics] Application Of Coating Technoloiges To Improve The Barrier Properties And Extend Product Shelf Lifetime

For many applications in the food, beverage and pharmaceuticals areas, plastics do not have a good enough barrier against oxygen, carbon dioxide or moisture, unlike glass, the ultimate transparent barrier packaging material. This article describes a number of commercially available coating technologies which can be used to improve the barrier properties of plastic containers - plastic containers with a touch of glass.
