Pittsburg Glass Anticipating Closures

Anticipating lower auto production in 2009, automotive glass manufacturer Pittsburgh Glass Works will close its Oshawa, Ontario glass plant in the 1Q 2009. The company, which was spun off from PPG Industries Inc. in 2008, also will cut more than 150 jobs and close satellite assembly plants in Newark, Delaware, and Cambridge, Ontario, later in 2009. It also expects to close two more plants after it completes a review of its factories in early 2009.
