Pilkington Uk Invests £3M In Structural Glazing Machinery

Pilkington UK has invested over £3m in new technology to increase its capacity to manufacture Pilkington Planar. The glass maker, part of NGSG Group, has invested in a toughening furnace, an increased capability heat soak oven, and a glass-measuring device. The new toughening furnace is expected to help increase volumes of the structural glazing system. It should be operational August 2019 and will be located at the Pilkington Architectural site at St Helens. The investment also increases the size capability of the toughening furnace and heat soak ovens to 6000mm x 3000mm.
