Pilkington Restructures Uk Business

A year ago Pilkington acquired for £95m the glass processing and merchanting interests of the country's largest distributor Heywood Williams. It amounts to a realignment of the UK industry and a direct challence to French-owned manufacturer Saint-Gobain and its Solaglas downstream operation. The two groups now account for over 40% of glass distribution in the UK.
