Pilkington K Glass™ S has reached a new milestone – NSG Group’s new coater at Cowley Hill has produced over two and a half million square metres. As the UK’s first jumbo off-line coating plant, Cowley Hill allows the NSG Group to manufacture a wider range of products in the UK. It enables ultra-thin special coatings to be applied to glass, creating a range of high performance energy-saving and solar control glazing. Pilkington K Glass™ has long been the leading choice in low-emissivity glazing, ensuring consumers save energy and money off their fuel bills. Pilkington K Glass™ S was launched in October 2011 and customers now benefit from an extended range of energy-efficient glass solutions and can offer a soft-coated product to householders from Pilkington, the brand they know and trust. Eric Falisi, Managing Director from Vetroseal Ltd., in Bedford, says: “Pilkington K Glass™ S is a super product to work with. The clarity is excellent and we find it more robust than other soft coat products we have experienced.” In Ireland, Bill Carey, Managing Director, Carey Glass International, also comments: “Pilkington K Glass™ S is an excellent platform product for the Pilkington low-E glass range with great clarity, durability and reduced toughening cycle times. The recently launched Pilkington Optitherm™ S1 Plus glass retains the same processing benefits but with improved performance and the fact that it is a one stock product puts it streets ahead.
