Pilkington "K" Glass Sales More Than Double

Sales of Pilkington "K" Glass are continuing to grow month by month with a number of large volume customers switching from competitor products to stock the new soft-coat energy-efficient glass as standard. Sales have more than doubled in the first six months following last October's launch and are on target to achieve the FY13 budget volumes. "The feedback from customers has been very positive indeed," said Product Manager Kristian Chalmers. "The sales team has done a terrific job in introducing the product to customers and with the support of R&D have arranged product trials to help deal with customer queries on handling, processing or similar issues. We are now seeing some of our bigger volume customers - processors who will use more than 10,000 sq metres a month, converging to Pilkington K Glass S as standard. The new Cowley Hill coater will be key in ensuring that we can continue to meet demand. We are currently supplying customers from our EU assets in Sweden & Germany to help establish Pilkington K Glass S in the UK to ensure we have the necessary volumes when the coater starts up in November."
