UK-based Pilkington Group has subsidiaries and undertakings all over the world and is the owner of the Finnish Lamino Group of companies. In 1994/5 the Lamino Group had a turnover of FM 646.6m (US$148m), of which exports accounted for FM 528m (US$121m), 77.6% of total turnover. The Lamino Group is the biggest concern in the glass business in Finland, employs about 1,300 people, owns the country's only float glass plant and controls companies in Germany and Holland.
