Pilkington Brothers Limited Announce New Float Glass Tank

A new float glass tank, which took two years to builds and cost £5,000,000, is now operating at St Helens. It is ten years since the float method was conceived. The work at St Helens are now devoted entirely to the production of float glass and Pilkington now manufacture plate glass only at Doncaster. The first license agreement has recently been completed with the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company to manufacture float glass in the U.S.A. They intend to start work immediately with their first installation.
