Periodic Precipitations Of Silver Particles In Soda-Lime-Silica Glasses

The increasing interest in glass containing small metal particles, on the one hand, is due to new possibilities of application as, for example, dichroic polarizer, and on the other hand, to its non-linear optical properties. The latter also suggest novel ideas of its application, e.g. as photonic switches.
