Pearsons Complete Takeover Of Rival

Pearsons Glass, based in Liverpool, has completed the takeover of London-based rival James Hetleys. The takeover makes Pearsons the largest supplier of coloured and decorative glass in the UK and gives it a southern base for further expansion. Pearsons has invested steadily in its Liverpool base and its East Kilbride site, which together employs 63 staff. The firm has also invested in the latest computerised technology for the production of mirrors, decorative designs and coloured work. Pearsons has a Liverpool studio to encourage the use of new materials and processes in the industry in conjunction with he NW Arts Board, the Glass National Training Organisation, and universities.
